Why practicing yoga and Pilates is not only good for our physical health but also our mental health.
Stress and anxiety have a funny way of creeping up on us when we least expect it. If you’ve ever experienced a stressful season of life and wondered what you could do to help yourself feel better in the moment or manage the stress, this audio story might be for you. Enjoy this small audio story from a recent Functional Fitness Class where I experience a newfound peace while learning how to JUST. BE. STILL.
The past several years I’ve been on a personal health journey, and one of the many things I’ve learned is that at some point in our lives, everyone experiences stress and anxiety. Maybe it’s transitioning into college from high school, moving to a new state to start a career, or just simply feeling stressed from challenging life circumstances—we all feel stress!
So, I wanted to learn some ways that I could take my health into my own hands and what I could do in the moment to help myself feel less stressed out. After a few Google searches, I started a deep dive into meditation, yoga, and Pilates.
I realize I need to incorporate these on a more consistent practice to really feel their magical effects, but after just a little research and this wonderful discussion with Pilates and Yoga Guru Mara Raskin, I’m learning there are a multitude of health benefits associated with practicing these wonderful exercises. Enjoy the short clip and be well friends.
Best,
Kate
